Tony Iommi is largely credited as the father of heavy metal and his work in Black Sabbath has gone on to inspire millions of players. Iommi's original guitar was a custom built instrument made by John Birch in 1975 and was used on Technical Ecstasy, Never Say Die, Heaven and Hell, and Mob Rules. This Epiphone signature is spec'd very closely after his original with a Mahogany body and neck, Rosewood fingerboard, cross inlays, 24 frets, and Gibson USA Iommi designed humbuckers. Black hardware and classic 2 Volume 2 Tone control layout conjure everything from swing and jazz to wailing solos and sludgy riffing - just like Tony!
